Materials of weathered grey timber, recycled brick and stone are sympathetic to the location, and provide a natural softness against the dark cladding on the building.

Subtle curves in both the architecture and garden allow the eye to move freely through the site and out to the greenery beyond.

Planting selections were crucial for this exposed site.  Front line tolerant species such as Coastal Banksia, Lomandra Tanika and Westringia were  chosen on the timber batten fence perimeter of the garden.  Within the curved brick walled garden, more delicate full sun plants have been used, along with a vegetable garden large enough for a family.
