This landscape delivers all the requirements of modern life, but sits comfortably in the heritage context of the lovingly restored sandstone home.

Consisting of a series of rooms wrapping the unusual shaped site, the gardens connect to each other and invite the visitor to explore.

To the entry, a pond and spillover rill create a tranquil private courtyard. This links round to a garden room with outdoor chessboard and viewing deck off the study. For the rear gardens, an outdoor dining space connects to a generous lawn while looking out over the tranquil swimming pool and plantings beyond.

The material palette of recycled sandstone from site, corten/painted steel elements, and off-from concrete is an extension of the external detailing of the build creating a seamless connection between house and garden.  This landscape has an instant timeless feel that will continue to evolve as the robust materials weather with age and the plantings grow in and intertwine with the built form.
